Moved to Pine Hill Cemetery from French Cross Road (Robidas Farm) 24 Aug 1960A memorial tablet (located just outside of Dover, New Hampshire - at the intersection of Littleworth Rd. & Industrial Park Rd.) bears the following inscription:

"John Hayes, the Scotsman, came to Dover about 1680, married Mary Horne, and established a family on the surrounding acres. Their integrity and industry are held in memory by their descendants. 1934."

(1) For further information regarding the genealogy of the Hayes Family - check the book "John Hayes of Dover, New Hampshire - A Book of His Family" (1936) by K. Richmond.

(2) John's spouse Mary Horne's maternal grandfather was John Clough (died 1691) (Find A Grave Memorial # 30903158).
