Loyd Henry Bristol, youngest son of Willard and Catherine Bristol was born in Polk Township, Shelby county Iowa April 1, 1889 and passed away suddenly of a coronary heart attack December 15, 1951 at the age of 62 years, 7 months and 23 days. When the end came he was at home, near Redline where he had lived for twenty-five years. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters and one grandson.
Surviving are his wife, Cecil; two sons, Wilford and Gerald; two grandchildren, David Lee and Faye Marie; two brothers, James of Harlan and Mose of Gaston, Oregon; two sisters, Mrs Minnie D. Wald of Vici, Oklahoma and Mrs Lena Hulett of Lenora, Oklahoma besides a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
His father died the same year he was born. He went to Oklahoma with his mother when he was six years old. His mother died when he was twelve and from that time he made his home with his sister Minnie until he returned to Iowa at the age of twenty-four and had made his home in this vicinity ever since.
He obeyed the gospel in the fall of 1915 and was a member of the Redline Church of Christ the rest of his life. He was united in marriage to Cecil Fiscus at the home of her parents February 2, 1916.
Services were held at Redline Church Wednesday, December 19, 1951 with Horace Hinds officiating.
Bearers were Fred Stock, James Dahlof, Sterling Harris, Lloyd Gaer, Nels Jacobsen and August Christensen. Burial was at Redline cemetery.
