LEONARD DONALD MOORE
September 17, 1931 - December 6, 2020
Leonard Donald Moore was born on September 17, 1931 to Forrest and DellaMae (Baraham) Moore in Black Oak, AR. Don was one of four children. He attended school in Black Oak before moving to Richmond, CA where his parents worked in the shipyards. He attended Richmond High, and Santa Rosa High School. Don joined the Marine Corps in 1950 and served in Korea for 15 months and was honorably discharged in October 1953. He started working for Southern Pacific Railroad in December 1953. Don retired from the railroad after 40 years.
Don met and married the love of his life Roberta (Cervantes) Moore on July 12, 1958 and was married for 62 years. Don and Roberta had three children Coln, Kevin, and Kellie. He loved spending time with his family and made lots of memories camping. He also loved taking his grandkids camping and fishing. After retirement, Don and Roberta enjoyed camping at Pismo Coast Village and visiting their son Coln in Virginia. They also enjoyed traveling and cruising with their dear friends. Don's passion was golfing and he played twice a week until he was 87 years old and never missed his afternoon gin and tonic.
Don is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his grandson Dustin Moore. He is survived by his loving wife Roberta Moore, son Coln Moore, son Kevin Moore, daughter Kellie (John) Reece, four grandchildren Nicole Moore, Lacey (Michael) Diaz, Lexie (Philip) Barreneche, Brock (Taylor) Reece and 11 great-grandchildren. He was the best husband, dad, papa, great grandpa, and friend. We will all miss him dearly.
Graveside services will be held Thursday December 17, 2020 at Greenlawn Memorial Park on Panorama Dr. at 2:00pm.
