Richard D. Brazel, age 68, passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at his home in Rutledge. He was born in Philadelphia, Penn. on March 18, 1951, to Edsel O. and Alice Faye Owens Brazel and lived most of his life in Morgan County. He graduated from Reidsville High School in 1970 and Georgia Southwestern Technical College in Americus. He retired from the Georgia Department of Natural Resources after working 34 years. He continued to work part-time after retiring. He enjoyed the outdoors, Parks and Recreation, carpentry, watching football and baseball, and playing his guitar. Most of all, he loved his family.

He is survived by his wife, Constance G. Brazel; his children David (Barbie) Brazel, Clancie (Craig) Burke, Micki Adams, April (Pamela) Adams; sisters Cathy Wilson, and Melissa (Tommy) Hulett, brothers Ed Brazel Jr, John Brazel, Raymond James “Jim” Brazel (deceased), and Albert Brazel (deceased); father in-law Robert C. Glosson; brothers in-law Jackie (Lillian) Pierce, Robert Frank (Marie) Glosson, Danny (Allison) Glosson, and Rickey Glosson, and a loving sister in-law Kathy (Robert) Bailey; 10 grandchildren and one great grandchild. A host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

A memorial service was held on Friday, August 23 at 6 p.m. in the chapel of A.E. Carter Funeral Home.
