Darlene Agnes Heiberg, age 89, of Crookston, MN, passed away on Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at the Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston, MN.

Darlene Agnes Solie was born on November 2, 1931, on the family farm in rural Crookston, the daughter of the late Oliver and Agnes (Charron) Solie. She was raised on the family farm and attended country school. In 1948 she moved with her family to Crookston, MN. She was baptized at St, Anne's Church and was confirmed at Hafslo Lutheran Church. On August 17, 1958, she was united in marriage to Kermit Heiberg at Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston, MN. Darlene worked from December 1948 to April 1959 in Bethesda Hospital in Crookston, MN. She then ran a daycare out of her home from 1966 to 1981 and at Riverview Nursing Home from September 1981 to February 1998. She was a very active longtime member of Trinity Lutheran Church. She was past president of WELCA and taught Sunday School. She was also a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary and past president of the Eagles Auxiliary.

Darlene is survived by her daughters, Carla (Mike) Liston and Lynell (Frank) Huie, both of Duluth, MN; son, Paul Heiberg of Alexandria, MN; and grandchildren, Nick and Sam Liston and Cale Huie. She was preceded in death by her husband, Kermit Heiberg; parents, Oliver and Agnes Solie; infant sister, Lorraine Demarais; infant brother, Elroy Solie; brothers, James Solie and Jerome Demarais; and sister, Josephine Dale.

Funeral service celebrating Darlene's life will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, December 18, 2020, at Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home in Crookston, MN, with a time of visitation one hour before. Pastor Greg Isaacson will officiate. Interment will follow at Oakdale Cemetery in Crookston, MN. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic a maximum of 50 people will be allowed to attend the funeral and masks and social distancing will be required. The service will be livestreamed on Darlene's obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com.
