She was born in Wilmington, daughter of the late Leonard and Wanda (Gulczynska) Bartkowski. Marie was a graduate of Ursuline Academy and enjoyed a 20-year career as a secretary for the City of Wilmington.
The most important things in her life were faith and family. When her mother passed away, Marie assumed the role of matriarch, and helped her younger siblings reach maturity. She was a devoted Catholic and dedicated parishioner at both St. Hedwig and St. John the Beloved. In her free time, she enjoyed bowling, spending time at Delaware Park, and especially enjoyed family gatherings.
Marie is survived by her son, Walter J. Mousley, Jr; her sisters, Sr. Marie Victoria Bartkowski, CSSF, and Sr. Lisa Marie DiSabatino; and her brothers, William (Maryann), and James (Karen, deceased).
In addition to her parents,
she is preceded in death by her husband, Walter J. Mousley, Sr; her brothers, Leonard (Phyllis, deceased), Eugene (Veronica), Richard (Joanne), Francis, John (Theresa), Joseph (Dorothy), and Stanley (Martha); her sister, Antoinette Ivanitch (Nicholas, deceased); her daughter, Mary Wanda; her Babcia, Aniela Gulczynska; and her Godfather, Msgr. John T. Gulczynski.
The family would like to thank Dr. Melissa Morgan-Gouveia, Nurse Practitioner Cherie DeMerchant and the staff at Seasons Hospice. Especially nurses Jennifer and Theresa.
Special thanks to her sister-in-law, Theresa and her niece, Kim who took exceptional care of her.
