Obituary for Wesley Sparks

Wesley Sparks, age 79 of Springfield passed away Monday, November 30, 2020 at his residence.

Funeral services were held Friday, December 4th in the chapel of Austin & Bell Funeral Home Greenbrier with Bro. Joe Rushing officiating. Burial followed in Greenbrier Cemetery with Chad Evitts, Michael Davies, Trevor Sparks, Matt Sparks, Daniel Dodd and Keith Dodd serving as pallbearers. Visitation was held at the funeral home Thursday, December 3rd, 4pm to 8pm and on Friday, December 4th, 9am until the hour of service at 11am.

Mr. Sparks was born in Chicago, IL on March 5, 1941 to the late John Wesley and Bessie Sparks. He was also preceded in death by his wife of 50 plus years, Elizabeth Ann Wise Sparks; brothers, Ronald, John, Wayne, Woody, Bill and Rich Sparks; sisters, Mary Ann Snider and Judy Browning; grandchildren, Hannah Dobb and Zachary Beard. He was a retired painter with the Neeley Coble Company. He was a member of Main Street Church Of Christ in Springfield and he enjoyed golfing.

He is survived by wife Brenda Sparks; children, Donald R. (Rhonda) Sparks of Coopertown, Yvonne Thomas of AL, Sarah (Bryan) Beard of LA, Marilyn Sparks of Springfield, Michelle (Kent) Davies of Portland, TN, Dana (Jeremy Yates of Cross Plains; brothers, David Sparks of Smyrna, TN, Charlie Sparks of IN, Dana (Jeremy) Yates of Cross Plains; 25 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren.
