Stephen Clement Adams was born June 12th, 1954 in Copenhagen, Denmark to Sigmund and Ellen (Rasmussen) Adams. He passed away December 6th, 2020 at MercyOne Hospital in Sioux City, IA after a battle with heart failure.

Steve came with his family to the United States on a boat in 1958. They settled in rural Jefferson, SD. Steve attended grade school at St. Peter’s in Jefferson for a few years. The family then settled in the Vermillion area where he attended St. Agnes and graduated from Vermillion High School in 1972.

Steve met and married Rose Burcham on July 9th, 1976 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Elk Point, SD. They resided in Centerville, SD and moved to Elk Point in 1980. Steve and Rose were blessed with three boys Bradley Ryan, Curtis Alan and Joshua Michael.

Steve was a retired Property Manager for South Union Developers. He spent his free time fishing and camping with his best friend Rose, along with his children and grandchildren. He attended as many of his grandchildren’s events as possible, from concerts, to sporting events, to 4-H and Boy Scout events.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 44 years, Rose, their boys and their families, Brad and his wife Tonya of Fairfax, SD and their children Gracelyn, Bentley, Charlie, Gabe and Siena; Curtis and his wife Sara of Letcher, SD and their children, Haley, Chloe, Miley, Kaylee and Whitney; Josh and his wife Amanda of Elk Point, SD and their children, Parker, Garrett, Regan and Skyler. Great-Granddaughter Jamie. Two Sisters, Helena (Tom) Rezac of Yankton, SD, Gloria Larsen of Tuscon, AZ; mother-in-law Joyce Burcham of Elk Point, SD, brother-in-law Terry (Marilyn) Burcham of Burbank, SD, sister-in-law Rhonda (Tom) Begley or Greenwood, IN; and several nieces and nephews.

Preceding Steve in death by his parents and infant sister and father-in-law Leland Burcham.
