It pleased the Almighty God to call out of this life, Mrs. Carolyn Moreen Allen Schroeder Hornung on Wednesday December 2, 2020 while in her home in Valentine, NE after she had patiently endured many mentally taxing physical health related trials without complaint. Carolyn was born October 18, 1938 at Bryan Memorial Hospital in Lincoln, NE. The new baby was welcomed home by parents, James H. Allen and Esther Weyers Allen, and older brother James W. Allen. Younger brothers Richard Allen and Terry Allen later joined the young family.
She entered the Kingdom of God through holy baptism at an early age, later renewing her dedication to the Lord as a young lady. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1957. She later added to her education by graduating from Christ for the Nations Bible College in 1988.
She was united in holy wedlock on June 20, 1957 to Mr. Robert Donald Schroeder. To this union six children were born, two sons and four daughters. Carolyn conducted her life with a gentle spirit, faithfulness, kindness, and support of her family as a true Proverbs 31 woman. After the death of her first husband, she was married to Casper Hornung, Jr.
Carolyn is survived by her husband, Casper Hornung, Jr.; daughters: Kim (Jim) Reimers, Cherrie Schroeder, Julie (Hugh) Rechner and Konni (Rowdy) Kluender; brother Richard (Gayle) Allen; sister-in-law Ann “Cookie” Allen; grandchildren; great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her sons: Craig Robert Schroeder and Michael Allen Schroeder; her parents; and brothers: James H., James W. and Terry.
