On Friday, November 6, 2020, Robert Aron (Arron) McWhirter, loving father of four daughters, passed away at age 91.

Robert (Bob) was born on June 23, 1929 in Oxford, Nebraska to Morris Hobart, known to everyone as Hobert, and Mary Sylvia Downey McWhirter. As a young man he farmed and worked the coal mines in Alabama. He came out of the mines to join the Army Air Corps and served in occupied Japan during World War II. After leaving the Army Air Corps, in search of a better life, he studied at the University of Houston where he earned a Mechanical Engineering degree in 1955. He designed and built heat exchangers for major chemical companies here in the US and traveled extensively consulting for many companies around the world. He married Billie Ruth Kennedy on October 15, 1949 in Tremont, Mississippi. They raised four daughters, Reba, Debra, Reatha and Sandra.

He was a woodsman, known for his funny stories, kind, compassionate spirit, love of woodland forests, gardening and blue plumbago. He loved to watch things grow. He was also very talented in woodworking and cooking.

Bob was preceded in death by his father, Hobert; his mother, Sylvia; brothers: Larry and Vick; his first wife, Billie Ruth Kennedy and his second wife, Juana Jean Hawthorn.
He is survived by his four daughters: Reba and her husband Lonnie, Debra and her husband Jimmy, Reatha and her husband Terry and Sandra and her husband Eric; his brother Jack; several nieces and nephews; grandchildren: Bridget, Lynnette, Kim, Jenny, Robert, Jamie, Kristen, Sylvia, Jason, Amanda, Christopher, Evan, Ethan, and Emory; great-grandchildren: Toby, Kristopher, Ashley, David, Brianna, Patrick, Dominique, Nathan, Hayden, Aubrea, Cyanna, Guinevere, JJ, Landry, Kaleb, Greyson, and Ruby; great great–grandchildren: Mitchell and Blakeleigh.

Bob’s graveside service will be held on Thursday, November 12th, 2020 at 10:00AM at Conroe Memorial Park Cemetery, 1703 Porter Rd., Conroe, TX 77301.
