Victor Jansen McWhirter went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on October 17, 2014. Mr. McWhirter was born July 7, 1927 to Morris and Mary McWhirter in Memphis, Texas. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Opelika. He was a retired Master Sergeant in the United States Army, and an avid wood worker. He enjoyed fishing, camping, traveling, and was an RV enthusiast. Mr. Mcwhirter is preceded in death by his parents Morris and Mary McWhirter, and older brother Larry McWhirter. Mr. McWhirter is survived by his devoted wife Lenore; daughter, Donna Brown; sons, Russell McWhirter and Daryl McWhirter; brothers, Robert McWhirter and Jack McWhirter, along with many other well loved family members, and friends. His generous heart and welcoming smile will be greatly missed.
