Clarence L. Scarbrough was the first born son of James William Scarbrough and Louisa Matilda Gonterman. He was just 11 years old when his father passed away. Clarence was the first born of six children, he had three brothers, Darwin, Samuel and Theodore. He was also blessed with five sisters. He had two sisters, Nancy and Sylvia, and when his widowed mother married Charles Alexander Brown, they were blessed with three daughters. Their first born daughter, Freida Melvina lived just 5 months. Then came Garnet and Lela. In 1921, Clarence married Marie Stie " Mary" Stickelmann and to this union, two children were born, Dorothy and Franklin. Clarence served in the Army during WWI . He was just 28 years old when he passed away.
