Billy Gene Anderson, 81, passed away Tuesday, December 1, 2020, at UNC-Rockingham Health Care in Eden.

Born January 10, 1939, in Rockingham County, NC, Billy was the son of the late Dennis William Anderson and Gertrude Burchell Anderson.

He was a US Navy veteran and a retiree of Spray Cotton Mills. Billy was a member of True Hop Church. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, riding around, and going to church on Sunday mornings.

He is survived by his daughter, Betty Wright (Mark) of Eden; son, Stephen Anderson (Kimberly) of Eden; seven grandchildren, Billy Gene Anderson II (Shawna), Stevie Anderson, Kristie Whaley (Randy), Crystal Worley, Josh Worley, Crystal Silvers (Daniel), and Jennifer Wilson (Josh); 13 great-grandchildren, Alissa Wilson, Natalie Wilson, Payton Silvers, Jackson Silvers, Derrick Silvers, Kaylie Silvers, Addison Anderson, Emalyn Anderson, Cheyenne Anderson, Sadie Anderson, Landon Worley, Clay Worley and Elaina Whaley; and two sisters, Sharon Nelson and Joan Bridgman (Jack).

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn D. Anderson.

A graveside service will be held at 2 PM on Sunday, December 6, with burial to follow in Ridgeview Memorial Gardens. He will lie in repose on Saturday from 12 Noon to 6 PM and Sunday from 8 AM till 12 noon, at Fair Funeral Home for those wishing to come by to pay their respects.
