John L. Yoder, 93, of Belleville, passed away at 11:40 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 1, 2020 at Valley View Haven.

Born May 29, 1927 in Belleville, he was a son of the late Jonathan Z. and Barbara (Sharp) Yoder. On April 27, 1952, he married Enid M. Yoder, who survives at Valley View Terrace.

Also surviving are: his children, Mildred Bender and husband John Paul of Greensboro, N.C., Ann M. Yoder of Charlotte, N.C., J. Larry Yoder and wife Lou Ann of Lewistown, Lester J. Yoder of Springfield, Mo.; grandchildren, Michael Bender, Jennifer Bergey and husband Phil, Mark Bender and wife Lindsey, Amanda Yoder and husband Curt, Sarah Uetz and husband Steve, Tyler Yoder and wife Annie, Tim Yoder and wife Ashleigh, and Matthew Yoder and wife Alannah; great-grandchildren, Carter and Kason Bergey, Brycen, Parker, Mason, Elijah, and Easton Bender, Dalton, Hayden and Mila Yoder, Zachary and Benjamin Uetz, Aspen and Willow Yoder, and Gunner and Ellington Yoder, as well as a brother, Lee M. Yoder and wife LaVerne.

He was preceded in death by: siblings, Melvin C. Yoder, Mary C. Yoder, Ruth Ann Metzler Yoder and an infant brother, Thomas Richard Yoder.

John attended Gap school. Earlier in life, John was an over the road truck driver for Daily Express and more recently, he served as a van driver for the Amish. John was a member of Locust Grove Mennonite Church and the Living by Faith Sunday school class. He was a people person, he enjoyed hunting, attending sales, working on puzzles and spending time with his family.

His services will be private and at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Locust Grove Cemetery with Pastor Max Zook officiating.

In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to: Gator Wilderness Camp School, 44930 Farabee Road, Punta Gorda, FL 33982.
