Edward Francis "Ed" Grady Sr., 68, of 700 W. Ridgeway Ave., died Monday, June 28, at Allen Hospital, Waterloo, of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 4, 1930, in Waterloo, son of Charles and Mary Pauley Grady. He married Charlotte Glaspie on Jan. 23, 1953, in Cedar Falls.

Mr. Grady worked at Clopay Corp. for 20 years, then was employed as a machinist for Wayne Engineering for. 14 12 years, retiring in 1992.

Survived by: his wife; a son, Edward Jr. of Chattanooga, Tenn.; five daughters, Brenda Johnson of Cedar Falls, Frances Snyder of Urbana, Tamara Wagner and Paula Jirak, both of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Roberta Benesh of Des Moines; 14 grandchildren and 1 1 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Owens of Waterloo and Eilene Dewater of Yuba City, Calif.; and a half brother, Louis Neuenkirk of Brandon.

Preceded in death by: three brothers, John, Jim and Clyde; and five sisters, Lucille Neuenkirk, Juanita Feske, Marjoric Combs, Dorothy Sorensen and Charlene Grady.

Services: 2 p.m. Thursday at Garden View Chapel, Waterloo, with inurnment at a later date. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and for an hour before services Thursday at the chapel. Memorials: may be directed to the family. Edward Grady
