Doris was the sixth of nine children born to Dora Tilden and Carrie Alice (Lees) Snidman. She married Lawrence Arthur Schwarz in 1928 and they were the parents of four children: Dale L., Gerald Dwight, Wilette and Phyllis C.

A funeral service for Doris Evelyn Schwarz, 1261 White Ave, will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Callahan Edfast chapel with Pastors John Goley, Elmer Hagele and Byron Blecha officiating. Burial will be in Orchard Mesa Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to service time Wednesday in the mortuary.
Mrs. Schwarz died of natural causes Saturday in Larchwood Inn. She was 85.
She was a nurse at St. Mary's Hospital for 13 years. She was a resident of Grand Junction since 1967.
She was born Aug 13, 1910, to Dora Tilden and Carrie Alice Lees Snideman in Creede. She spent her childhood in Cedaredge and Denver and attended high school in Shelton, Neb.
She married Lawrence Arthur Schwartz on Nov. 9, 1928, in Denver. He died Jan. 15, 1994, in Grand Junction.
Mrs. Schwarz lived in Colorado central Nebraska and Delta before moving to Grand Junction.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Grand Junction and Colorado Practical Nurses Association.
Mrs. Schwarz enjoyed crocheting, gardening, cooking and her family and friends.
Survivors include two sons, Dale of Grand Junction and Gerald of Montrose, two daughters and sons in law, Wilette and Frank Clark of Corona, Calif. and Phyllis and Arlo Krueger of Grand Junction, a brother, Ralph of Centralia, Mo, two sisters, Elva Wallace of Loveland and Wilma Boring of Arvada. 13 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
Two brothers and six sisters are deceased.
