LaVerne (Carstens) Fulton passed away peacefully on November 29, 2020 at the age of 98. She was born on February 5, 1922 in Pierce County, Nebraska, and attended church and schools there. She married Alvin Fulton in 1941 and together they moved to lower Burns Creek, Montana where Alvin was employed by his uncle. Two years later they moved to Bloomfield, Montana. They were blessed with two children, Jackie and Monte. After a lifetime of farming and raising cattle they retired in Glendive, Montana in 1988.
LaVerne enjoyed socializing and entertaining friends and family in their home. She was active in her church and spent much of her time reading Bible and praying for others. Her faith was very important to her and often spoke of God’s amazing grace. Her greatest desire was to be united with each of her children and grandchildren in Heaven.
LaVerne spent many hours volunteering at Glendive Medical Center and enjoyed attending various clubs and coffee parties. She also enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and Europe over the years. After her husband passed away in 1999 and she had grown older, she felt that she would like to be surrounded by more people and more activity so she moved from her home to the Grandview Apartments. After living there for three years she moved to the Heritage On Merrill and lived there three more years. She very much enjoyed her stay at both residences. At the age of 94 she moved to Glendive Medical Center Extended Care for four and a half more years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alvin.
