George washington Harrison succumbs Saturday; burial here. Funeral service for George W. Harrison, 94. of Lanes Ferry , were here Sunday at 2:30 p.m. from the Lanes Ferry Baptist Church. He succumbed early Saturday morning at local hospital. Officiating at the rites were the the Rev. O. E. Garner ,assisted by the Rev. N. C. Welch. Interment was in the Oak Grove cemetery under direction direction of Kidder Cox Funeral home. Born December 12, 1866, in Mississippi, Mr. Harrison had made his home with a daughter for the past several years. He left left 178 direct descendants. Among the survivors are four sons, Pete Harrison and Kelly Harrison, route 1, Oak Grove, Charles Brewer, route 1, Oak Grove Doc Harrison, Hazelnuts, Mississippi; nine daughters,Mrs. Lessie Postell, Epps; Mrs. Mildred Gunter, Mrs. Louise Phillips, Mrs. Marie Smith, Mrs. Dollie Hales, all of route 1, Oak Grove,Mrs. Carrie Robertson, route 3, Lake Providence, Mrs. Verna Labranche, of Jackson, Jackson, Mississippi, Mrs. D. L. Berry, of Pinola Mississippi,. Mrs. Mamie Odom, of Hazelnuts, Mississippi. Also surviving are 56 grand-children, 104 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grand-children. Pallbearers were. Derral Harrison, Jack Gunter,. William Gunter, Ted Berry, George Harrison, Mann Smith.
