Myrtle Colene Berry, 83, of Borger passed away in Lubbock, TX on November 29, 2020. Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3 at Keeler Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Highland Park Cemetery under the direction of Minton Chatwell Funeral Directors of Borger.

Colene was born in Lamar, Oklahoma on February 9, 1937 to Cecil William and Imogene Parker Phelps. She married J.C. “Jake” Berry on October 1, 1954 in Borger. Colene and her husband owned J.C. Berry Dirt Contractors where she was the bookkeeper while raising her children. She especially adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Colene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her son Royce Berry, granddaughter, Amanda, great-grandson, Trevor and brother, Burl Phelps.

She is survived by her sons, James Berry and wife, Kathy of Ulysses, Kansas, and Michael Berry of Sanford; her daughter, Brenda Berry of Borger; her brother Glen Phelps of Amarillo; and sisters, Betty Trout and Rhetta Stewart both of Borger; Colene was also blessed with 8 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
