BORGER - J.C. "Jake" Berry, 65, died Sunday, March 4, 2001, in Amarillo.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Riverview Baptist Church with his son, the Rev. James Berry, pastor of Southside Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery by Minton / Chatwell Funeral Directors.

Mr. Berry was a member of Adobe Walls Masonic Lodge No. 1355, Billy Dixon Masonic Lodge No. 1367, the Order of the Eastern Star and Scottish Rite of El Paso. He was active and sponsored several Little League baseball teams over the years as well as other youth sports and activities.

Survivors include his wife, Colene Berry; three sons, Rev. James Berry and Royce Berry, both of Borger and Michael Berry of Waxahachie; a daughter, Brenda Berry of Borger; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

The family suggests memorials be to Scottish Rite Crippled Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, TX 75219-3993; or Khiva Shrine Travel Fund, 305 E. Fifth Ave., Amarillo, TX 79101.
