Mrs. Laura Heath Taylor, age 87, passed away Monday morning November 30, 2020, at her residence.
A native of Greene County, she was born January 31, 1933, the daughter of Jody and Sarah Moore Heath.
She attended the Snow Hill High School before marrying her late husband, Joseph Donald Taylor. They spent many years traveling the world during his US Air Force career. She was a member of the Snow Hill First Baptist Church and retired from the former Granite Glove Company. Laura was a consummate homemaker and enjoyed working in the yard, flower gardens, cooking, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Betty H. Barnes, Ollie H. Judd, Winnie H. Danner, Grace H. Wooten and Mary Ann H. Harrison; brothers, Ralph Heath, Dennis Heath, Bruce Heath, Charles Heath, Kirby Heath and Rudolph Heath.
Her surviving family includes a daughter, Diane Taylor Ivey and husband Bob of Morehead City; a son, Alan Taylor, and friend, Judy Crissell of Chesapeake VA; granddaughter, Laura Ivey of Raleigh; a brother, J.C. Heath of Snow Hill, and many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the staff of Community Home Health and Hospice especially Angie, Lesley, and Sandra; her special angel caregivers, Irma Corbett, Susan Parker, and Jordan Barrow, for their loving and compassionate care.
Funeral services will be held at 3 PM Wednesday, December 2nd, at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service with Reverend David Sawyer officiating. The committal service will follow at the Snow Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Flowers are welcome or memorials are suggested to the Snow Hill First Baptist Church, PO box 484, Snow Hill, NC 28580.
