MADISON — Mrs. Pauline Joyce Martin Dodson, 91, formerly of 5834 NC Hwy. 772,
died Sunday, September 16, 2007, at Countryside Manor.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, September 20, at Mt. Hermon
United Methodist Church, where she was a member, with the Reverend Lanell
Johnson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
Mrs. Dodson was born on March 25, 1916, in Stokes County, the daughter of the
late George Hunter Joyce and the late Della Martin Joyce. She was retired from
Washington Mills.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband,
Samuel Lee Martin in 1938 and her second husband, Dewey Dodson in 2001.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, James Lee and Nancy Mason Martin
of the Virgin Islands; step son and wife, Keith and Sarah Dodson of Hilton Head;
two grandchildren, Elizabeth Martin Hering of St. Croix and James Spencer Martin
of Pittsburgh, Pa.; two step grandchildren, Melinda Dodson Newton and Stuart
Andrew Dodson, both of Atlanta; several nieces and nephews; and special nephew
and wife, Donald and Ann Joyce.
The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday, September 19, at
the funeral home.
