Mrs. Karst was survived by three daughters, six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. She retired in 1985, after 21 years as school secretary at Mishawaka's Twin Branch Elementary School. She was a faithful member of St. Andrew's United Church of Christ until its closing in 2015.
