Donna Marie Lane, 78, of Altoona (Sinking Valley), died Monday, November 23, 2020, at Hearthside Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in State College.
Born October 25, 1942, in Altoona, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Ethel Williams Kerlin. On May 14, 2005 she married Robert Lane, who preceded her in death on October 12, 2014.
She is survived by one daughter, Myong-Hwa "Hiya" McKenna and her husband Stephen of Pine Grove Mills; and one granddaughter, Caitlin McKenna. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Myong-He Miles.
Donna earned her master's degree from Cornell University. She was a dedicated teacher who spent over 40 years in a profession she was proud of, and ended her lifelong career as a science teacher at Altoona Area High School.
She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church in Sinking Valley. She enjoyed traveling the world with her husband Bob, reading, and crocheting.
Her heart went out to so many organizations in need and she donated regularly. A few are the Wounded Warriors Project, the ASPCA, St Judes Children's Hospital and the Police Benevolent Foundation. A donation in her name to your favorite charity would be a fitting tribute to her memory.
