Born August 8th, 1915 in Arena, North Dakota. Died August 4th, 2016 in Seattle, WA. She was the third child out of 8 to Rev August John Hoeger and Amelia Johanna Aden Hoeger. They moved from Arena to Arthur ND, settled in Fargo ND where she graduated from High School. After that, she attended Concordia College and Lutheran Bible Institute in Minneapolis MN. She worked as Parish Assistant and Director of Religious Education in St Paul, MN, and Detroit, MI. On Dec 28th, 1944 she married Anel Gilbert "Gib" Fjellman. They served parishes in California and Minnesota. Returned to California where Gib was Regional Director of American Missions. In 1963 they moved to Seattle where Gib was Bishop of the Northwest Synod (LCA). She lived at The Hearthstone on Green Lake for the last 11 years, was vibrant and loving, and she followed her faith in her Lord from the time she woke in the morning until she closed her eyes at night.
She leaves behind daughter Ruth Fjellman, son Jonathan Fjellman (Teri Adams), three grandchildren Keely Brianne, Kaurie Anel, and Kelsey Adams plus great-grandson Logan Dale.
Her memorial will be held on Saturday, August 27th at 2:00 at the Hearthstone in the chapel.
