American Lutheran pastor, whose father founded the Evangelical Good Samaritan Society. John served as the administrator of the Society's Parkston, South Dakota center after he graduated from Wartburg Theological Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa in 1948. After two years he then was ordained and served as a pastor at Overland Park, Kansas and Ontario, California before returning to the Society in 1967. He served as the administrator of the Good Samaritan Village at Hasting, Nebraska and then went on to serve at the Good Samaritan National Campus in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, serving first as its administrator and then its president. He received an honorary doctorate from Wartburg Theological Seminary in 1987.
