(1959-2020)

Mrs. Debra Lynn Ruckel Lewis, age 61, of Vanceburg, Kentucky, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland, Kentucky.

She was born June 15, 1959, in Lewis County, Kentucky, a daughter of the late Walter and Cophine Bloomfield Ruckel.

Debra was a member of the Vanceburg Christian Baptist Church, where she was the song leader and worked for the court system for 30 years as a court reporter and trial commissioner. She enjoyed going to church, revivals, and camp meetings and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, Darrell Ruckel and one sister, Annette Chateauneuf.

Debbie is survived by her husband of 25 years, Adrian Lewis; one brother, Jerry Ruckel (Donna) of Vanceburg, Kentucky; two special great nephews, Camron Ruckel and Brett Ruckel; and several other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

A private visitation and funeral service will be held Friday, November 27, 2020, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg, Kentucky, with Brother Roger Conley and Brother Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens in Lewis County, Kentucky.

Kenny Ruckel, Todd Ruckel, Jeremy Ruckel, Camron Ruckel, Brett Ruckel and Jeremy Fraley will serve as pallbearers.

Due to COVID-19 regulations, we ask that everyone wear a mask and practice social distancing.
