Michael Ushman, 87, of Springfield, died Tuesday at St. John's Hospital. He was born Oct. 8, 1871, in Austria, the son of Michael and Helen Ushman. He married Johanna Kustels [sic: Kastelic] who preceded him in death Feb. 13, 1944.

Mr. Ushman was a member of Sacred Heart Church and a Springfield resident for 60 years.

He is survived by four daughters, Mrs. Johanna Gregurich, Hartford, Mich.; Mrs. Catherine Wood, Pleasant Plains; Mrs. Helen Gramlich and Miss Rose Ushman, Springfield; five sons, Michael, Anthony, Frank and Joseph, Springfield, and John, Pleasant Plains; two brothers, John and Blase, Springfield; 34 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

Services at Sacred Heart Church and burial in Calvary Cemetery.
