Gary James "Taters" Campbell
1942 - 2020

Early Life: Gary was born August 31, 1942, in Provo, Utah, to Henry Alexander and Dorothy Mae Kofford Campbell.
Life's Work | Service | Interests: On September 13, 1962, Gary married the love of his life, Linda Barter. Their love would prove to stand the test of time as the two just celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary.
Gary had a love for the outdoors, he enjoyed getting out to hunt, fish, and camp as often as he could. He and Linda enjoyed their life together, often getting away to spend time at their home in St. George, Utah, which Gary referred to as his Disneyland getaway. They enjoyed traveling in their 5th wheel trailer, exploring many areas with lifelong friends during the winter months. They also enjoyed spending time together in their yard and were always known to have one of the most beautiful yards in town.
Gary's pride and joy were his two children, Corinne (Sissy) and Shawn (Bud). He loved life; he always had a good story to tell, he was easy-going, quick-witted, and always offered a smile. He loved visiting with others and making new friends. Gary loved watching BYU sports, he was a true blue, loyal BYU fan!
Gary had a reputation for not only doing things right, but to perfection. His dedication to detail and perfection lead to an opportunity to teach the trade he loved at Utah Technical College; he was the top instructor for many years. He was a member of the Pipe Fitters and Plumbing Local 140 Union and had just received his 50-year pin in December 2019. Gary's talents, patience and knowledge were not limited to his career of choice. If anyone had a question regarding a project, they could not only get the answers they needed from Gary, but they would also be offered a helping hand from him. Gary James "Taters" Campbell passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2020, in St. George, Utah. He was 78.
Family Message: "As much as our hearts are broken, we find comfort knowing Gary is free of the pains from his mortal body and is now enjoying and incredible reunion with his loved ones and friends that passed before him. In lieu of flowers Gary would love nothing more than to see his friends and family do something special for someone they love."
