Mrs. Marie Stains died at the home of her son Dr. J.E. Stains, Wednesday at the age of eighty seven from the shock following a fall from a chair. Mrs. Stains was able to ralley and pass quietly away conscious and if full possession of all her faculties to within a few minutes of her death.
Mrs. Stains was born in England in 1845, became converted to the L.D.S. belief, married John Stains when twenty five and came to Utah in 1892 and to Delta in 1917. She was always very active independent and of strong mentahty. After her fall recently she spoke of her life made light of her troubles and suffering and evinced her willingness to pass on. A well thumbed prayer book was her constant source of solace and close companion.
The funeral was held Friday at the home of Dr. Stains under the direstion of Bishop E.E. Gardner at which a sketch of her life was read by Mrs. F.L. Brasher. The speakers were Bishop A.E. Stephenson, William E. Bunker and E.E. Gardner.
