She lived in Salem, Oregon for nearly 50 years, having come here from Roseburg Oregon with her husband, G.W. McNeely and their two sons, Russell and Timothy in 1972.
She was a native of Texas, grew up there, attended university at Hardin Simmons University, earning a Bachelor of Arts degree in 1952 and continued her education at Southwestern Theological Seminary at Dallas- Fort Worth, earning a Master of Religious Education degree in 1955. It was here that she met and married G.W. McNeely, in July of 1955.
The young couple moved to Oregon in 1957, as church planters.
Rosemary led a life of service to her church, her students, her family and the educational community. She was a member of American University Women for many years, and was active as an alumnus of both Hardin Simmons and Southwestern.
Following her retirement from the public school system, she served for many years as Minister of Education for Capital Baptist Church, and was a mentor and counselor to many young and aspiring educators.
She is survived by her son, Tim, her brother, Robert, her Daughter in Love, Daphne, and her three grandchildren, Simon, Nikolai and Mason.
A memorial service will be held at Capital Baptist Church, 3000 Lansing Ave. NE on Wednesday November 11th at 1pm.
