Lois Hampton Henshaw is the son of Ernest Wann Henshaw and Amanda Lou (Swearengin) Henshaw. He was born at home in Swaim, Jackson Co., AL. He is the paternal grandson of Robert Tribble Henshaw and Isabelle (Putman) Henshaw. His maternal grandparents are Albert David Swearengin and Wade Hampton (Bishop) Sanders Swearengin.

He had three sisters.

His brother: Hampton Henshaw was stillborn and buried in the Bouldin Cemetery, Swaim, Jackson Co., AL

He served in the Navy during WWII in the Pacific theater.

"Buddy" married Gloria Mae Swanson on September 4, 1951.

Their 2 daughters: Janice Fay Henshaw and Bonnie Lou Henshaw are buried in the Henshaw Cemetery. He was caretaker of the Henshaw Cemetery, in Estillfork, AL, for many years starting with the death of his first child and ending when his health deteriorated.
