Gulf Breeze - Jeffrey Jay Carter, 53, passed away at his home in Gulf Breeze, on October 21, 2018.
Jeff was born in Madison, WI on October 24, 1964. His family moved to Utah where he was raised until he joined the Navy.
Jeff proudly served in the U.S. Navy for 22 years. He traveled the world on multiple ships and made lifelong friendships. He retired in 2006 as a Chief Petty Officer. Never one to be idle, he began his 2nd career at NAS Whiting Field and was a plane captain.
Jeff loved the outdoors and was an avid bicyclist, fisherman and a certified diver.
Jeff is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Beth (Myers) Carter; children, Charlotte and Jake; father, Roger (Kathy) Carter; mother, Teri (Chuck) Christensen; brother, Chad (Timmye) Carter; sister, Melissa (Joe) Robertson; three nieces, Kate, Heidi and Abby and three nephews, Jackson, Marc and Andrew and dear friends, Sharon Burnside and Kathie Joy.
The family wishes to express their gratitude for everyone at Emerald Coast Hospice for all of their compassion and caring. Mr. Carter's ashes will be scattered by family at a later date.
Jeff will best be remembered as a loving husband and father.
