Douglas Eugene Wright, age 79, of Ivanhoe, VA passed away Thursday, November 5, 2020.
He was born May 28, 1941 in Wythe County, the son of the late Sherman Eugene Wright and Connie Louverna Handy Wright.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Judy Gravley Wright.
Survivors include his daughter, Melissa Ann and Terry Combs of Galax, VA; two sons, Jamey Douglas Wright of Independence, VA, Jeffery Allen Wright and Tamie Cartwright of Max Meadows, VA; sisters, Darlene Wright Holland of Roanoke, VA, Terri Renee Privett of Indiana, Tammy Wright of Ohio and Judith “Jute” Wright Maines of Sparta, NC; brothers, Jerry Wright, Barry Wright and Gary Wright; eight grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; significant other, Dreama Darlene Dunford; special friend and neighbor, Gene Dunford family.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Fairview UMC Cemetery in Ivanhoe with the Reverend Mike Ingo officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Reese Funeral Home. Reese Funeral Home, Austinville, VA is serving the Wright family.
