Raymond C. Collins, a lifelong resident of Slocomb, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, November 7, 2020, at Hartford Health Care. He was 94 years old. Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, November 10, 2020, at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Byrd officiating. The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday from 10-11 am.

Mr. Collins was born on November 30, 1925, and lived in the Slocomb area most of his life. He proudly served in the US Army during World War II in both the Pacific Theater and the Korean Occupation. He returned to Slocomb to be a farmer for the next 50 years. Mr. Collins was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.

Mr. Collins was preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Ruby Spears Collins, by his parents, Hosea and Sophie Davis Collins, his brothers, James, Buren, and Hosea Paul, and by his sisters, Ruth, Frances, and Bonnie.

Survivors include his children, Milton (Gwen) Collins, John (Darthy) Collins, and Richard (Teresa) Collins, and Caroline (Mailon) Boyd; his ten grandchildren, Stacie Rolf, Andy Collins, Jennifer Ainsworth, Melissa Holman, Adam Collins, Matthew Collins, Clint Collins, Elizabeth Whitaker, Mallory Boyd, and Emily Boyd; his eighteen great-grandchildren; his one brother, Hilton Collins; his two sisters, Yuvawn Holland and Mildred Adkison; and several nieces and nephews.
