Lois was born July 29, 1921, in Marble Falls, the daughter of Clarence and Ruth Deniston Lewis. Lois married Bruce Switzer on Dec. 23, 1939; he preceded her in death July 2, 2002.
Prior to moving to Whitney in 1969, she was active in civic organizations in Fort Worth and served as president of the Junior Woman's Club in 1952. Lois was an avid golfer, loved gardening, rock pounding and playing bridge at McCowan Valley Community Center. She volunteered at Our Daily Bread Food Bank and was a member of Fort Graham Baptist Church and the PUSH Bible study.
Preceding her in death were her parents; one brother; and two sisters.
Survivors: Children, Jeff Switzer and wife, Betty, of Lake Whitney, Molly Bondow and husband, Randy, of La Plata, N.M., and Mary Barr and husband, Ken, of Whitney; brother, Costello Lewis and wife, Goldie, of Marble Falls; sister, Vivian Ross of Austin
grandchildren, Mark Switzer and wife, Beverly, Scott Switzer and wife, Anjie, Jack Barr and wife, Jackie, Katy Barr, Lisa Oliver and husband, Stephen, Wade Barr and fiancee, Sarah, Matt Barr, Melissa Barr and Zack Barr of Temple; and eight great-grandchildren.
