DIED IN HOME OF BROTHER
Mrs. W. L. Mattix
, 55 years old, of Baxter Springs, died at the home of her brother, Lish Thomason at 9:30 o'clock, Saturday night. Mrs. Mattix formerly resided in Joplin and is well known in the district.

She is survived by her husband, W. L. Mattix of Seattle, Wash., one son, Harold Mattix, also of Seattle, and four daughters, Mrs. W. A. Kirby and Mrs. E. A Gast of Seattle, and Mrs. H. V. Manlove and Miss Catherine Mattix of Joplin.

Funeral services were held at the home of her sister, Mrs. A. J. Kinyon, at 2 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. Rev. Roy Bird of Commerce, Okla., officiated. Burial was made at Carl Junction, Mo.

MATTIX FUNERAL WEDNESDAY
Funeral services for Mrs. Anna Mattix, 55 years old, who died at the home of her brother. Elisha Thomason on Shaw Hill, Saturday night will be conducted from the home of her sister Mrs. A. J. Kinyon at 1 o'clock Wednesday afternoon. The Rev. Roy Bird of Commerce, Okla. will officiate. Burial will be made in Carl Junction, Mo.

Mrs. Mattix had spent several months in Baxter Springs and was visiting her brother here when death occurred. She was making preparations to join her husband W. L. Mattix, who had gone to Seattle, Wash., a short time ago.

Anna's husband was William Lawrence Mattix. According to the Galena death records, Anna died from lobar pneumonia.

William died on October 21, 1923, in Seattle, King County, Washington. His remains were cremated.

Children:
Anna and William had several known children together. Audrey Rhea [Manlove], Vida Maude [Kirby] who died in 1964 in Washington, Georgia B [Gast Wilson] who died in 1979 in Montana, Floyd who was born in April 1897 but not listed in the census for the family in 1910, Glenn who died in 1922, Catherine [Spaun Faley] who died in 1966 in Montana, and Harold who died in 1985 in Springfield, Missouri.
