Johnann was born January 12, 1926 in Mexia, TX to Bernard Conrad and Agnes Marie (Fette) Seyler. Johnann graduated from Sacred Heart High School, Muenster, Texas in 1944. In 1948, she earned a Home Economics bachelor’s degree from Texas Tech University. During summers off from teaching in Muenster and Lindsay schools, Johnann completed coursework at the University of North Texas, earning a master’s degree in Education.

On August 4, 1949, Johnann married Lambert Paul Bezner in Valley View, Texas, with Msgr. Thomas Weinzapfel officiating. They shared thirty-four years together. On their wedding anniversary, August 4, 1983, Johnann wore her 1949 wedding dress on one of her hospital visits with Lambert. He passed away on September 3, 1983.

Johnann was a loyal parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Gainesville from 1949 until 2020, having served twice as Altar Society President. Johnann enjoyed traveling and studying at home in order to learn about people and customs in other parts of the world. In order to stay alert in later years, her daily routine included having a beverage and working on a crossword puzzle every afternoon. Believing curiosity was good for the mind, she would say, “Keep your nosiness!”
