Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 5, 2020 from 5:00 PM until 8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home in Monticello, MS and continuing Friday November 6, 2020 from 10 AM until service time at 11 AM at Wilson Funeral Home with graveside services following in Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Jayess, MS. Bro. Stephen Wyles and Bro. Johnny Calcote will officiate the services with Wilson Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Gearldene was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She was a kind-hearted woman who enjoyed caring and providing for others, especially close friends and family. Gearldene enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. She was a member of New Zion Baptist Church in Monticello, MS. Gearldene will be missed by everyone.
Gearldene is survived by her sons, Danny Wyles (Connie) of Hardy, Ark, John Wyles (Christy) of Monticello, MS and Stephen Wyles (Jennifer) of Natchez, MS; sister, Dyan Mead of McComb, MS; brothers, Richard Barnett (Loretta) Anderson, SC, and Willard Jr. Barnett (Jamie) of Monticello, MS; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Those preceding her in death were her parents, husbands John Wyles and Royce “Sonny” Shiel; 3 brothers and 1 sister.
