Donald McKinley Benson, 86, son of Crawford and Minnie Benson was born 18 October 1934.

He passed away from the cares of this world and went to meet his Savior 27 October 2020, at St. Bernards Medical Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas. He was married to Barbara Sue Dover on 3 June 1955 at Piggott, Arkansas. God blessed him with three children: Patricia Denise, Donna Sue, and Douglas Dewayne.

Denise married Eddie Joe Lovins and they had son, Joseph Chad. Dewayne married Mary Petigo and they had two sons, Douglas Delane and Billy Jo. Dewayne then married Faye Grammer and they had two daughters, Ashley Nicole and Victoria Lynn. Donna Sue was born 23 June 1953 at Piggott Hospital with spinal bifida and passed away 5 July 1959 at Memphis Baptist Hospital.

Donald's companion and love of his wife, Barbara Sue, passed away after long illness 18 November 2016 at St. Bernards Hospital in Jonesboro, Arkansas. His only son Dewayne passed way 23 December 2005 at a family home near Piggott from cancer.

A Sunday morning service 7 November 1999 at Shady Grove Baptist Church East of Piggott, Donald obeyed the Lord's call and was gloriously saved. He later joined the church and was baptized by Bro. Charles Smith. He has been a faithful member since then.

He has been a lifelong resident of Clay County, Arkansas, having grown up around Crockett and worked at Brown Shoe Factory for many years. Donald enjoyed woodworking, horses, gardening, and camping.

Preceding him in death were his companion, his parents, his two children, and siblings, Floyd, Bill, and Ella Mae and brothers-in-laws, sisters-in-laws, and other relatives and friends.

Surviving him include his daughter and son-in-law, Denise and Eddie Lovins; granddaughters, Ashley and Jim Crow, and Tori and James Gaines; grandsons, Chad Lovins, Douglas and Billy Benson; great- granddaughter, Alasyne Crow; two sisters, Jolene DeBolt and Dorothy Wiltfang; two sisters-in-law, Una and Charles Pollard and Betty Pollard; many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 30, 2020, at 12:00 p.m. at the Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church near Piggott, Arkansas with Bro. Shawn Parker and Bro. Mike Book officiating. Burial is in Piggott Cemetery in Piggott, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be Fred Ort, Larry Ort, Allen Parker, Shawn Parker, Dave Ward, and Bro. Robert Gunnels.
