Loyd Jordan
Loyd Jordan, age 90, of Yankton, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2004, at Avera Yankton Care Center, Yankton, SD.
Memorial services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 13, 2004, at the Kostel Funeral Chapel, Yankton, with Rev. Richard Baumberger officiating. Burial of the cremated remains will be in the Garden of Memories, Yankton, with military graveside rites by the Ernest-Bowyer Post #791. Visitations will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Loyd was born at Armour, SD, on June 29, 1913, to John and Stella (Ray) Jordan. Loyd served in the United States Army from 1935 to the end of World War II in 1945. He was stationed in Hawaii during Pearl Harbor. He married . . . in Hawaii. At the end of WWII he returned and he and . . . started farming in the Lesterville area. He continued to farm and retired from farming in 1975 in the Springfield and Tyndall areas.
He enjoyed his coffee-drinking friends, his family and playing cards.
He is survived by his wife, . . . ; one son, . . . ; daughter . . . ; six grandchildren; one great grandson; sister, . . . ; and brother Charles "Denny" . . . Jordan of Porterville, CA; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.
Memorials are directed to the American Cancer Society at 209 East 4th Street, Mitchell, SD 57031 or the American Juvenile Diabetes Foundation at PO Box 2680, North Canton, OH 44720.
