Judith Carter
June 17, 1950 - October 25, 2020

Judith Anne Carter, age 70 of Radford VA, went home to be with our Lord, on October 25th, 2020.

She was greatly loved by her family, and many, many friends. She practiced 35 years as a licensed cosmetologist/instructor, to which she served and witnessed to many elderly and handicapped acquaintances. She loved crocheting, and was gifted at many various other crafts. After becoming home bound, she crocheted 200 or more hats to be donated for the preemie ward, and 200 or more to donate for the cancer treatment center patients. She visited with and witnessed to many elderly friends throughout her community during her retired years. There is no way of knowing how many people she actually helped through the years, as she believed her good should be done in secret, according to Matthew 6: 1-4 (KJV) She also had a deep, deep love for all animals and homed/fed many strays through the years as well as her own fur-family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, James Melvin White and Ethelyn Carroll White, and her only baby/big brother, Terry Melvin White. (Happy reunion day!)

Judith is survived by her daughter, Melissa D. Gilliam, and her husband Chris (whom she referred to as “errand boy”). Her son , Michael Brian Carter, and his wife Holli Carter. Special son-in-love Fallon Ray. Grandchildren: Cory W. Graves, Elliot M. Carter, and Harper A. Carter. Great Grandchildren: Xander R. Graves, Xavier S. Graves, and Mazzy M. Graves. Special great-grands: Loucylle L. Orren and Blane L. Orren. Special/best friend and family in heart, Kenny E. Quesenberry.

Services will be held at West Radford Church of God on Saturday October 31st, 2020. Visitation from 1:00pm – 2:00 pm with Funeral Service at 2:00pm officiated by Dr. Roger L. Graves Sr. And Dr. Robyn Angle followed immediately by interment at Highland Memory Gardens, officiated by Reverend Harold A. Brown. In lieu of flowers please donate for premature babies to the March of Dimes, or for cancer patients to the American Cancer Society.

Matthew 6: 1 – 4
1 Take heed that ye do not sow your alms before men, to be seen of them: otherwise ye have no reward of your Father which is in heaven. 2 Therefore when thou doest give [thine] alms, do not sound a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may have glory of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward. 3 But when thou doest give alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth: 4 That thine alms may be in secret: and thy Father which seeth in secret Himself shall reward thee openly.
