William W. Strickland, 89, of 510 E. Ann St. died Sunday, April 1, 2001, at Galesburg Cottage Hospital in Galesburg.
Born March 8, 1912, in Clay City to John E. and Ida Webber Strickland, he married Vada W. Curtis on Aug. 12, 1940, in Burlington, Iowa. She died May 2, 1970.
He also was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Pearl Strickland of Galesburg; one son, John (and Eddie) of Galesburg; one brother, Pete of Abingdon; two sisters, Wanda Nicholas and Lucille Singleton, both of Galesburg; and Betty Kemp of Knoxville, who cared for him.
Burial will be in Knoxville Cemetery.
