Richard “Dick” Bruce Leavitt, 78, Minot, formerly of Lansford, passed away Sunday, October 25, 2020 in a Minot Hospital.

Dick was born November 7, 1941 in Minot, North Dakota, the son of Harold and Pearl (Bengtson) Leavitt. He was raised on the family farm near Lansford/Mohall and graduated from Lansford High School in 1959. During his younger years, he assisted his family with operations on the family farm and was an excellent bowler. He attended Concordia College in Moorhead MN, and the Brunswick Pinsetter School in Chicago.

Dick was united in marriage to Glenda Aus on May 6, 1962. They lived in Lansford for a time, where they operated Lansford Lanes. They moved to Minot in 1966 to further his career with AGSCO, becoming the Midwestern Sales Manager for the company. Dick dedicated his life to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in 1974.

In 1982, Dick and Glenda were called to the Christian Radio Ministry, where they purchased the KHRT Radio Station, which he has owned and operated for 38 years. In 1984, Dick founded the KHRT Horn of Plenty Outreach, providing food and the gospel for families in need during the Christmas season. In 37 years of outreach the Horn of Plenty has helped over 10,000 families.

After a courageous battle with cancer, Glenda passed away on October 14, 1995.

Dick was united in marriage to Marcia Holm on December 31, 1998. They have made their home in Minot, where Dick and Marcia have continued to bless the Minot area with his ministry at KHRT Radio. Blessed be his memory.
