George W. “Peanut” Humphrey Jr, 72, of Medaryville, IN, passed away on Friday, October 23, 2020 at Northwest Health Porter Hospital in Valparaiso, IN. He was born on April 3, 1948 in Chickamauga, GA to the late George W. and Clara Colleen (Painter) Humphrey. The family moved to La Porte, IN in 1959. On June 3, 1972, George married Sandra C. “Sandy” Mitchell in Rensselaer, IN.

He was a lifelong concrete finisher and retired ten years ago after Sandy passed away. George was a hard worker and liked helping others. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Medaryville. George enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He will be sadly missed.

George is survived by four children; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; four sisters; special friend, Carol Warran; and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents and wife.

Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday, October 30, 2020 at Frain Mortuary Querry-Ulbricht Chapel in Medaryville, IN. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM with Pastor Tom Dewlen officiating. Private burial will take place at Independence Cemetery in Medaryville, IN.
