Sara Emma Burtcher, 89, died October 24, 2020, in Oklahoma City. She was born July 11, 1931, in Mount Calm, Texas to Cam Harrison Ward and Eula Victoria (St. John) Ward. A graduate of Putnam City High School, she retired after 35 years as a sales associate with J.C. Penney Co. Sara was a longtime member of Bethany First Baptist Church and ministered by delivering tapes to shut-ins. She enjoyed bowling leagues and was an avid antique collector. She loved OU football and the OKC Thunder. Sara herself played basketball in high school.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, VC and Herbert Lee Ward, and sisters, Viola Rainbolt, Ethel Ward, and Maggie Dickenson. Survivors include her son, Dean Burtcher of Oklahoma City; sister, Corene Abernathy of Crescent, OK; 3 grandchildren, Robert Burtcher, Kathy Kreutz and husband Heinz, and Mark Densmore and wife Ruth; and 1 great-grandson, Zachary Mullin. She was married to Wallace Burtcher for 62 years.

Graveside services will be Saturday, October 31, at 11:00 am in Rose Hill Burial Park, Oklahoma City.
