US Congressman. He served in the United States House of Representatives from 1946 until his death, as a representative of Oregon's 1st Congressional District. Son of former Oregon Governor Albin Walter Norblad, Sr., he was appointed to the House following the death of Congressman James Wheaton Mott. A graduate of the University of Oregon and Harvard Law School, he served as an intelligence officer with the U.S. Army Ninth Air Force during the Second World War. Prior to being elected to Congress, he served as a member of the Oregon state legislature from 1935 to 1937 and as a delegate to the 1940 Republican National Convention. He died in office shortly after celebrating his 56th birthday.
