She was a retired Teacher at Allen Academy and a former tax accountant and EMT. .
She was a founding firefighter and auxillary board member of East Allen Volunteer Fire Department for twenty-one years and a member of Allen County Democratic Women’s Club where she served as a former President.
She was a member of Scottsville Chapter #60 Order of Eastern Star and attended Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church.
She was the first Conceal Carry Deadly Weapon instructor in Kentucky.
Survivors:
Her husband; one daughter: Haley Parrish; two granddaughters: Gracie Parrish and Willow Garmon; and many extended family members and friends.

Her parents and one brother: David Sims Graves.
