Johnny W. Collins, 81, of Liberty, Mo., passed away on October 22, 2020 at Ashton Court Care and Rehabilitation Center in Liberty, Mo.

Johnny was born on March 18, 1939 in Carrollton, Mo. He graduated from Carrollton High School in 1952. Johnny joined the Army after high school where he served his country proudly until his Honorable Discharge in 1962. Johnny married Elizabeth (Gaines) Collins on November 18, 1967. They lived in Richmond, Mo., and were married 52 years.

Following his military service, he worked for the United States Postal Service for several years until he retired. He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed time with family and friends, fishing, playing cards and watching his favorite teams, Kansas City Chiefs, Kansas City Royals and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Johnny is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Collins; daughters, Laurie (Kevin) Rice, Felicia Collins, and sons, Christopher (Brandi) Collins, Phillip (Kaylene) Collins, and Christopher Hackett; brother, John Hanna; 16 grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, as well as beloved nieces, nephews and other family and friends.

Johnny is preceded in death by his mother, Helen Astor Harker; father, Johnny Vernon Collins; and sisters, Hattie Collins and Costello Nunley.

Visitation will be held 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., Monday, October 26, 2020 at Bross & Spidle Funeral Home, with a graveside funeral service at 1:00 p.m. at Woodland Cemetery in Richmond, Mo. Pastor Noel Chase will be officiating.
