Verna M. Nafziger, 98, of Hopedale died at 6:38 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 22, 2007, at Hopedale Nursing Home.
She was born February 1909 in Hopedale, the daughter of Amos and Mattie Mast Sutter. She married Arthur W. Nafziger on December 24, 1929 in Hopedale and he died December 20, 1999.
Surviving are two sons, Paul A. (Gloria) Nafziger and Joel L. (Nancy) Nafziger; two daughters, Patricia A. Murphy and Faye M. Coultas; 15 grandchildren; 60 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one daughter, Betty Jean Cender, one brother, Ervin Sutter, and two sisters, Amanda Springer and Sadie Nafziger.
Verna was a homemaker.
Burial will be in Mennonite Cemetery.
